This was indeed a very fun wedding! For those of you who follow my blog, I’ve always maintained ‘I don’t do weddings’…. except I’ve ended up doing quite a few now. (see link from previous blog post HERE)
I don’t advertise as a wedding photographer, but… if I am recommended by someone or asked to photograph a wedding, I’m usually happy to do it…. and I certainly was for Hannah and Anthony’s big day at the gorgeous Horwood House, near Little Horwood, Buckinghamshire, early in August.
It was fun from the time I arrived at the venue and a gaggle of girls getting ready, through to the bridesmaids dancing down the aisle to Pharrell Williams’ ‘Happy’, and right up to the mother of the bride ‘rapping’ her speech to Eminem! (Yes, really!!)
The very gorgeous bride, Hannah, definitely does not have any confidence issues in front of the camera (I think that’s fair to say isn’t it Hannah?!), which made for a very entertaining day and provided some great shots for me.
The De Vere Estate Horwood House presented some fantastic opportunities for photos around the grounds, from the pagoda where the outdoor wedding ceremonies are held, to the 38 acres of parkland, including a picturesque well, beautiful manicured gardens around a lily pond and the elegant steps leading on to the terrace – perfect for that ‘confetti’ shot.

Maybe I’ve just been very lucky with the weddings I’ve photographed to date, but they have all been crackers, and this was no exception. Hannah and Anthony – thank you for letting me document your special day, and best wishes for a long and happy future together!
